The Information and Communication Technologies and Development (ICTD) are a premier series of scholarly conferences on the role of computers and communications in development, spanning technical and social science domains.
The conference attracts an extremely diverse, global set of experts, practitioners and academics. Keynote speakers at past ICTD events have included Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and web pioneer Tim Berners-Lee. Special guests have included high-ranking government officials, such as the Minister for Information and Communication of Nigeria, and heads of multi-lateral United Nations agencies, such as the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
In 2015, the Conference hosted by The Singapore Internet Research Centre (SiRC) was held at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from 15-18 May.
